Bella Bridesmaids offers wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses from more than 35 designers. Erin Casey Wolf opened the dress boutique after having trouble locating the perfect bridesmaid dresses for her own wedding. Helping Erin is her mother Kathleen Casey. Each wedding party is given a one hour session with a personal Bella consultant who will help guide women to make decisions based on their personal style. After the dresses arrive, each person receives a complimentary fitting appointment. Parties who are in a hurry can use Bella’s quick-ship service allowing dresses to arrive in under two weeks.

After working for major bridal companies and graduating from Columbia College in Chicago, Anna opened Bustle and Bodice. While the majority of her work is in altering wedding and special occasion dresses, she is happy to work with brides who want to design their own wedding dress. Show her photos from a magazine or social media, and she will design a similar dress for you. She is also willing to restore fabric allowing brides to wear wedding gowns from previous generations. This dress shop is available only by appointment.

Alterations to wedding dresses cost between $200 and $950 at the Alterationist located in the West Town area of Chicago. Operated by Mary, this shop requires 10 weeks for most wedding gown alterations. All initial contact is done through email. After agreeing to meet with the bride, Mary asks the bride about her ideas for the perfect wedding dress before making any changes. Most brides can expect three fittings of their dress which occur on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. This shop does not currently offer any design or construction services.
